Privacy Notice

Who is responsible

Nong Modikwa Primary School is responsible for the personal information it holds. The Principal, Mr Sephoka M.M. (Machoene Martin), is the responsible person, and can be reached on 082 215 5238 or at NONGMODIKWAprimary@school.limpopo.gov.za.

What we collect and why

We collect only what the school needs to teach and care for learners and to run the school: learner names, grade and class; work learners hand in; parent or guardian contact details; staff details; and school financial records.

We do not ask for identity numbers, medical details or any other sensitive information through this website.

Who can see it

Access is limited by role. An educator sees the learners and work relevant to their teaching. The Principal and school management see school-wide records. Financial records are limited to the Principal and the finance officer. Nobody outside the school can see private records.

How long we keep it

Each kind of record has a set retention period, reviewed by the school. Sign-in records are kept for a short period for security, learner work for the academic year and one year after, and financial records for seven years as required for audit.

How it is protected

Information travels over an encrypted connection, private documents are stored in private storage and opened only through short-lived links, and every important action is written to an audit trail. Privileged accounts use two-step verification.

The school assistant

The online assistant answers only from approved public school information and published learning activities. It has no access to learner submissions, marks, staff personal records or financial information, and school information is not used to train artificial-intelligence models.

Your rights

You may ask to see the information the school holds about you or your child, to have it corrected, to receive a copy, or to have it deleted where the school is legally allowed to do so. Contact the school office and the request will be recorded and answered.

Status of this notice

This notice describes the technical and organisational controls the school has put in place to support the principles of the Protection of Personal Information Act. It is not a legal certification of compliance, and the school reviews it with its governing body.
